Housing Matters

Creating Housing Networks that Support those in need

“Quality of life actually begins at home – it’s in your street, around your community.”
– Charles Kennedy

API values the role board and care, independent living, and sober living housing plays in providing safe, clean and affordable homes for our clients and others in the Behavioral Health Community. We see supportive housing as a vital component in many of our client’s road to recovery.

Our Housing Matters initiative works to support, educate and partner with owners and operators of Supportive Housing to create broader access to great housing options for those living with behavioral health issues. The programs below make up our Housing Matters Initiative:

  • Preferred Housing Partnership
  • API Housing Advisory Committee
  • Bi-Annual Housing Matters Summit

API Housing Advisory Committee Leading the way Home

API has partnered with leading supportive housing business owners and key community stakeholders to form our Housing Advisory Committee. This group of 20 community leaders meet monthly to discuss issues that impact housing for those with mental illness or addiction and to identify needs and strategies to improve housing for this vulnerable population. This advisory committee identifies topics, educational resources and speakers for the Bi-Annual Housing Summit.

API’s Housing Matters Summit

Our Bi-Annual Housing Summit brings together supportive housing owners, operators, government entities, Behavioral Healthcare providers and key community stakeholders to receive information, education and to explore the issues affecting the supportive housing and behavioral healthcare communities. Attendance is free but registration is required.
