Chief Executive Officer

Born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, Megan graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Psychology from Spring Hill College in Mobile, Alabama and Summa Cum Laude, with a Masters Degree in Occupational Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Houston, Texas.

Megan began her career in Psychiatry as an Occupational Therapist at Columbia West Florida Medical Center in Pensacola, Florida.  Three years later she moved to San Diego and began working with Sharp Healthcare.

Megan joined Alvarado Parkway Institute in 2000 and quickly assumed the role of Director of Adjunctive Therapy where she expanded the hospital’s program to include several new supportive therapies such as spiritual care, pet therapy, and established the Discovery Clubhouse, a mental health initiative in partnership with the County of San Diego and in alignment with the International Center of Clubhouse Development.

Megan held several leadership positions within the organization and in 2009 was promoted to Chief Operating Officer where she skillfully facilitated hospital operations with a data driven and quality improvement focus. In 2010, Megan was nominated California State Assembly Woman of the Year and in 2011, was awarded Manager of the Year by San Diego County Mental Health.  Recently, Megan led the organization in the acquisition, start up, licensure and accreditation of a Home Health agency as a part of the hospital’s continuum of care expansion.   

In April 2018 Megan began serving as Chief Executive Officer of Alvarado Parkway Institute. Megan currently resides in the community of Imperial Beach with her husband Mark West, and her two 4-legged children, Nani a Golden Doodle and Chloe a Great Pyrenees.  Megan considers herself a bit of a foodie who enjoys adventure travel, yoga, being outdoors, and spending time with Mark and their pups.
