Official Statement from Alvarado Parkway Institute
San Diego, CA — Alvarado Parkway Institute (API) has been made aware of a highly offensive flyer being distributed on vehicles in the downtown San Diego area. This flyer contains malicious and discriminatory statements regarding the Mexican community and mental illness, while unauthorizedly using our organization’s name and a phone number associated with a Google advertisement.
Alvarado Parkway Institute categorically disavows this flyer and its contents. The rhetoric used in these materials is abhorrent and runs counter to every value we hold as a healthcare provider. We find the attempt to associate our clinical reputation with hate speech and xenophobia to be a reprehensible act of misinformation.
API remains steadfast in its commitment to providing compassionate, inclusive, and culturally competent behavioral health services to all members of our diverse community. We are currently investigating the unauthorized use of our name in this matter and will work with the appropriate authorities to address this fraudulent and harmful activity.
