Our team at Alvarado Parkway Institute San Diego provides professional support to help those struggling with mental health and addiction issues. We offer different levels of care, personalizing treatment based on individual needs to help clients maximize their potential.
We provide intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization services for those in the San Diego area who do not require the intensity of inpatient treatment. We want each patient to understand that they matter, and we will be here through each phase of the recovery process.
Personalized Plans for Mental Health and Addiction Issues
While treatment depends on symptom severity, all of our programs target mental health conditions, substance use disorders, or co-occurring disorders.
At our behavioral health center in San Diego, we develop a plan for the treatment process, applying evidence-based techniques and therapy models. Plans can include mental health education, medication management, therapy, stress management, coping skills, and more.
In our Substance Use Disorder (SUD) program, we focus on abstinence and recovery, guiding our clients through detox in a safe setting. Our other programs target symptoms of mental illnesses.
Levels of Care
Outpatient services are best for those who require less intensive support for addiction and mental health conditions. These services are designed for those who need psychological, educational, or medical services but can return home when not in treatment.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services are particularly beneficial for individuals who are experiencing mild to moderate symptoms, have strong systems of support, and can function independently.
The flexibility of this program allows clients to apply the techniques they have learned in treatment to their everyday lives.
This level of care is offered up to three days a week, and clients have the option of choosing between the morning and afternoon tracks.
The program includes lunch and a snack, and transportation is available for those in designated zip codes.
Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Some clients require daytime structure and support to help them work through challenges in a safe environment. Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) services can help clients find balance in their lives while experiencing greater freedom with their nighttime routine. PHP services are the highest and most intensive level of outpatient services that we provide, and they include many of the same inpatient treatment services for individuals battling mental health disorders or addiction issues. Therapy, professional assessments, stress management, and more evidence-based treatment options are available. Our PHP services are often the next step after inpatient care, acting as a step-down program as clients transition back to a regular routine. They are meant for individuals in distress who do not need to be monitored 24/7 but still require support. These services are available from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Clients can return to their own homes when treatment ends.
Other Locations and Services
We are dedicated to serving those in the San Diego area and beyond. We offer IOP and PHP services at our El Cajon location, as well as IOP, PHP, and inpatient services at our La Mesa Centers. At this time, our La Mesa location is the only API behavioral health center that offers inpatient treatment.
Inpatient services are designed for those who require highly structured care. These services are best for those with significant risk factors and severe symptoms who would benefit from around-the-clock support. Treatment includes an emphasis on rapid stabilization, recommended next steps, discharge planning, and more.
